The Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) at St. Edward’s University is designed for individuals who are passionate about helping others participate more fully in the activities that give life meaning. Through hands-on learning, fieldwork experiences and close faculty mentorship, you’ll build the knowledge and clinical skills needed to support health, independence and well-being across diverse communities.
As you progress, you’ll learn to deliver client-centered care that empowers individuals across the lifespan. Program highlights include:
- On-campus learning in Austin, Texas
- 90 credit hours to be completed in eight semesters
- New cohorts beginning each fall
This is an entry-level doctoral program. Applicants must meet OTD admission requirements, including completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and prerequisite coursework as required by the program.

Train as a generalist occupational therapist ready to work with diverse populations in healthcare, community and rehabilitation settings. Build on prior study in fields like psychology, social work or kinesiology while gaining extensive experience through fieldwork, Level II placements and a doctoral capstone.
